Attention all lovers of Drum Corps, Band, Guard, and Marching in general

My name is Nicholas J. McKenzie and I have been a lover of music, marching band, and drum corps for the greater part of my life. It is because of this great love of everything wonderful that it means so much to me to be able to announce that...

I am starting a Drum Corps!

Starting Summer 2006, there’s a new Corps in town!

The Crimson Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, redefining Division III Drum Corps!

We may be new to the game, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t know what we’re doing. We already have a Grade-A musical staff lined up, and everything else is falling into place nicely. Our goal: to finish in the top-3 our first year (yes, that does mean that we’ll be traveling to finals.)

For all you marching band / drum corps fanatics out there, we’re looking for you! As we’re a new corps, we’re going to be looking for 79 able-bodied musicians to fill-out our ranks. Here’s a list of the numbers we’ll be marching:

12 Trumpets
8 Mellophones
10 Baritones
5 Tubas

6 Snares
3 Tenors
5 Basses
5 Cymbals

9 Pit
15 Guard

We have to wait for NESBA and WGI schedules to be finalized before we can schedule our audition camp, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t start getting the word out there ;-)

If you would like to be one of the founding members of the Crimson Knights, or would simply like more information, email me at CrimsonKnights06@hotmail.com. In addition, we are also looking for people well-versed in the inner-workings of a Corps to serve as members of our visual staff, as well as a few more for musical staff. (for all you corps vets going into the field of music education, this is a great opportunity to build up your resume.)

So, let the comments roll! Let me know what you think, even if you’re not all too interested ;-) (BTW, no other place in here to mention it, but we’re going to be based in Massachusetts)

with pride…
~Nick McKenzie
